Cabo, Winter Skyline

Studio Painting

This is the first and second layers of this painting. Now it is time for the final value adjustments and highlighting layer. I will post the final painting soon.

Adjustments to Plein Air Painting

Back in the studio I made final adjustments to my Plein Air painting. I changed the value of the sun, highlighted the river and defined some of the brush in the foreground.

Title 42

PLEIN AIR PAINTING

First Plein Air painting in years. Spent about 1 1/2 hours at the Sacramento River while hubby was fishing. I had a great time but am getting to old to sit on the rocks and paint. Really need to use my chair next time.

It was late afternoon to dusk. The sun was low in the sky and just peeking through the dark grey clouds. It was March 2, 2013.

The painting could still use some final highlighting and value tweeking back in my studio. I used a brush and a palette knife to do the painting.
